How it works

Oxybutynin blocks acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system, which may reduce sweating and hot flashes by acting on temperature regulation pathways.

Phyto-SERMs are plant-derived compounds that bind to estrogen receptors and weakly modulate estrogen activity. Tissue-selective, SERM-like activity — acting in brain and bone without stimulating breast or uterine tissue — has been demonstrated only for DT56a (Femarelle), a proprietary soy-derived extract, largely in preclinical animal studies. Generic red clover and soy isoflavones are non-selective phytoestrogens.
